The Final Goodbye - Fri 27th May
**The Final Goodbye**

Delighted to announce that Julian Dicks will be the manager of the Great Ormond Street team in this Friday's match (kick-off 7.30pm) at The Boleyn. Delighted also that Mark Ward is the latest addition to the Ex-West Ham squad.

Just a reminder that admission (pay at the gate) is £5 adults and free for children (must be accompanied by an adult).

Of course we have already had the last match at The Boleyn (and what a match it was) and this is just a final chance, especially for those who couldn't get tickets, to come along with the family and say goodbye to our much loved stadium and support this wonderful charity at the same time. Please share - thank you.

Brilliant, you could pass for a professional in that Pic mate, unlike me who sadly can just about pass for an obese Potato.

Glad you got a DVD of it too.

I would agree that the attendance was 200 to 300. Decided to go as I had nothing better to do so no reason not to. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Both teams took it seriously but still a few laughs to be had. Players were great with photographs and autographs etc.

Eindhovan

I expected at least a few thousand, but you know better having attended these games before, thought as it was one of the final games at the Boleyn, obviously people have moved on.

I had Frankie Mac in my pocket when I played at UP 5 years ago

I was lucky enough to have a place in the GOSH team and played the first 45 at centre half marking Frankie Mac and Don Hutchison. Amazing experience, a great night, and the perfect way to end my Boleyn memories.

HairyHammer,

Sad about attendance? How many roughly did you expect? I've said before this game always gets 200-300 family and friends of the charity team but the organiser has always come on here and said it's around the 1,000 mark. Hopefully now, they can finish the stadium tours, lock the place up and move on.

Boleynkid, where's next years game being held? For the amount of people that are interested, I'd book a pitch over Wanstead flats.

A few hundred in attendance, atmosphere school fete.
Game was fairly decent. Highlights apart from Frankie barnet were Franky Macs still can put the ball away.
Mad Dog arguing with the lino and giving him the middle finger when walking away.
George Parris and Mad Dog resembling really fat Sunday league footballers.
Christian Dailly and Ian Pearce supreme in center half.

Really wanted to see wardy more but wasn't on long.
Pitch invader after game had long finished being body slammed by security in WWF style, thought they were a bit over the top.
Good night all round.

Looking forward to hearing bubbles in the stadium tonight and seeing many of our former players in action.
Weather looks perfect as well which is a bonus.

I can confirm that food/drink is not allowed to be taken into the stadium. It is prohibited and people will be turned away.

I don't see anything to suggest you can't take your own food/drink into the stadium - or did I just choose to ignore that part...was at Orient on Saturday all day, my misses had a full blown picnic on the go...this time a few cans are going in 🍺🍺🍺

Re: The Final Goodbye - Fri 27th May
Sullivan said the last game would be the league game.

The club then promoted a child's plaything as the final game. People didn't like that, so they backed down and cancelled it.

That's it.

Re: The Final Goodbye - Fri 27th May
Regarding the called off ladies game, please enlighten me how you promote a game that is Literally the last game at Upton Park by not mentioning that it is the last game at Upton park?.
If it was promoted as the last professional West Ham game and it was not then you can get angry and vote No, but what in the rules stops the owners of Upton park from saying it is the last game, Have they broken any rules?, A game is a game is a game it is very simple to understand, well for me anyway.
